If you've grabbed a bubble tea in Eldon Square any time since 2016, chances are it was here. Chatime and Wei's Malatang, next to the escalators near Damaged Society, has closed, ChronicleLive reports. A forfeiture notice dated 22 October is on the unit, and the tables and chairs have gone.

What it was - Chatime bubble tea, from the Taiwanese chain founded in 2005, which now has more than 2,500 shops in over 60 countries. - Wei's Malatang hot pots, served from the same spot. Malatang is a Chinese street food dish of meat, veg and noodles in a broth with Sichuan pepper and dried chilli.

Still there from the 2016 opening of Grey's Quarter: Chaophraya, Bella Italia, Frankie & Benny's, Smashburger, The Alchemist, Tortilla and Chiquito.

Eldon Square has been asked for comment. For your next bubble tea fix in town, you'll need to look elsewhere.
