Hickory's Smokehouse opens in Benton on Friday 13 November
The BBQ chain that drew queues in Gateshead this summer is crossing the Tyne, into what used to be The Newton.
Hickory's Smokehouse is coming to Newcastle. Its first site in the city opens in Benton on Friday 13 November, in the former Newton pub, ChronicleLive reports.
Until this year the only Hickory's in the North East was in Thornaby, and people travelled a long way for it. Then in June it opened in Gateshead, in the old Gold Medal pub on Chowdene Bank, named after local running legend Brendan Foster. Benton is the next step, on the other side of the river.
What to order - BBQ trays, smash burgers and baby back ribs. - Big smokehouse platters for sharing. - Generous sides and a playful drinks list.
Good to know: there's a new bar, room for celebrations and a movie room for kids, so it works for family meals as well as nights out with friends.
