Sorella Sorella, the family-run Gateshead Italian known for its pasta, pizza and Sunday dinners, has opened a pasta bar inside Fenwick Newcastle, Chronicle Live reports. Sisters Roya and Rosa founded the restaurant in 2012, and you can now eat in the Food Hall or take away.

On the menu - The much-loved Pappardelle Ricce with lamb ragù - New fettuccine with pecorino, artichokes, lemon and black pepper - Italian cheeses, cured meats, antipasti and fresh salads - Amarena cherry tiramisu for afters

The sisters called the Fenwick opening a very exciting opportunity, and said being part of the Food Hall feels incredibly special. Fenwick Newcastle store director Kieran McBride said gathering the region's standout food names is central to the Food Hall's appeal.

The family also runs The Owl & Otter gastropub in Burnopfield and Sale Pepe in Shotley Bridge.

Worth knowing: it works for a quick lunch as well as a slower stop between shops. If you've been meaning to make the trip to Gateshead for it, the pasta has come to you.
