Christmas on Grey Street returns to Newcastle on 12 November
The festive pop-up bar is back in the old Leila Lily's for the first time in close to a decade, and the Home Alone and Love Actually murals are already up.

A festive pop-up bar is moving into the former Leila Lily's at the bottom of Grey Street, Chronicle Live reports. Christmas on Grey Street opens on Thursday 12 November.
It's a comeback of sorts. The building has been Christmas on Grey Street before, but not for close to a decade. Leila Lily's closed in spring 2025, and the unit has sat behind 'To Let' signs since.
What we know so far - Opening date: Thursday 12 November - Murals of Home Alone, Love Actually and The Grinch are already in the windows - A QR code on the front links to the latest updates on the opening
Prices, opening hours and booking details haven't been shared yet. It isn't the only festive bar in town either: Christmas in Newcastle is back at Rusty's, where the lower level becomes a 90s throwback playing classic tunes and films.
If you like your December nights out with a side of Kevin McCallister, Grey Street is the one to watch. We'll share details when they land.
