Sohe on Osborne Road closes after 12 years
The Jesmond pan-Asian bar and restaurant, known for BBQ plates, cocktails and bottomless brunch, shut with immediate effect on Tuesday afternoon.

Sohe on Osborne Road in Jesmond has closed with immediate effect, Chronicle Live reports. The pan-Asian bar and restaurant had been trading since 2014 and was a fixture on one of Newcastle's busiest eating-and-drinking streets.
The room was known for sizzling BBQ dishes, small plates, cocktails and bottomless brunch. On Tuesday afternoon the owners posted a short note saying they were now closed, thanking guests for the occasions shared over the years and confirming that anyone with an existing booking would hear from the venue directly.
If you had a booking - Wait for the venue's email, or write to info@sohe.co.uk with questions - Do not turn up expecting a table; trading has stopped
Osborne Road still has plenty of options, but Sohe's mix of decadent plates and late drinks leaves a gap in the Jesmond strip. Say goodbye properly if it was one of your regulars — the 12-year run is over.
