Hero's Return brings a gastropub-taproom to Battersea Power Station
David Ramsey and former St John chef director Jonathan Woolway aim to open in November, with lunch and dinner every day and a serious craft-beer list.

Hero's Return is due to open at Battersea Power Station in November, The Caterer reports. The riverside pub is led by David Ramsey — involved in Bancone, Crust Bros and Grosvenor Pubs through Splendid Hospitality Investments — with culinary director Jonathan Woolway, formerly chef director at St John and co-owner of the Shed in Swansea.
The name comes from a Pink Floyd track on The Final Cut. The Power Station itself famously appears on the band's Animals cover, which fits the site's rock-and-reinvention brief.
What to expect - Lunch and dinner every day, plus all-day bar snacks such as sandwiches - A more traditional Sunday offer - Example dishes: grilled mackerel with rainbow chard and horseradish; ox heart with hand-cut chips and peppercorn sauce - A tap list built after tasting London craft beers, pitched as taproom energy inside a proper pub dining room
Julia Wilkinson of Battersea Power Station Development Company called it rooted in London pub culture and a fit for the neighbourhood's mix of shops, bars and restaurants. Put it on the November list if you want a riverside pint with serious cooking attached.
