The Trof, once a late-night Northern Quarter haunt, is now in the Michelin Guide
The team behind Stow has turned the Thomas Street favourite into a dining pub for British classics, and it made the guide in four months.

Trof on Thomas Street used to charge £1 on the door after 11pm, and its first floor was a dancefloor. Now it's called The Trof, and it's in the Michelin Guide, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Who's behind it Matt Nellany and chef Jamie Pickles, the pair behind open-fire Deansgate restaurant Stow, which is also in the guide. They call The Trof a love letter to British pub classics and local produce, and it took them just four months to get it into Michelin's pages.
What's on the menu It's short: six starters, seven mains, four sides and three puddings. Look out for: - Hogget mince on beef dripping toast with an anchovy and preserved lemon dressing - A huge pork belly with braised fennel, carrot and swede purée and a sharp cider sauce - Ox cheek pie, beef fat chips and a burger with pickles and red Leicester on a milk bun - Sticky toffee pudding
It's still very much a pub, just a more refined one, with a recently renovated dining room.
