Dennis and June's Sandwich Fare closes in the Grainger Market after 32 years
The lunch stall known for cheese savoury sandwiches, steady prices and very good chips has served its last customer.

One of the Grainger Market's best-known lunch stops has shut. After more than 32 years, Dennis and June's Sandwich Fare has closed for good, and the market confirmed the news to Chronicle Live.
June Jefferson, now 70, opened the stall with her late husband Dennis. For three decades it kept city-centre shoppers fed with classic sandwiches, hot food and coffee to go, without ever getting pricey.
What people loved - The cheese savoury sandwich, its most famous order - Fresh sandwich meat bought from the market's own butchers - Chips that Chronicle Live's What's On editor once called magical - Prices that barely moved over the years
The old signage is still up, with the front covered while the stall waits for someone new to move in.
