Ruby Rae's gets bigger, and throws a country festival in Times Square on 23 October
Newcastle's first dedicated country bar has knocked through to fit more people in front of the stage, ahead of Ruby Rae's XL.

Line-dancers, there's more floor. Ruby Rae's, the country bar that took over the old Empress site on Side, has just been extended, ChronicleLive reports. Builders took out a wall at the back and moved the stage, so more of the room can actually see the band.
It has also picked up a photo booth, after one proved a hit at its sister bar, which opened in York over the summer.
The big date: Ruby Rae's XL. On 23 October the bar is putting on its own country music festival in Times Square. The acts confirmed so far are tributes to Shania Twain, Ella Langley, Morgan Wallen and Dolly Parton.
The bar opened in May last year, run by Dean Saunders and Dan Cooke, and it has had a steady stream of American acts on its stage. This weekend the new stage was due to host Ashleigh Bell, Bethan Amber, Bryan Watson and Ste Wilson, alongside its weekly line dancing sessions.
Plan it: check Ruby Rae's own pages for XL tickets and the line dancing times before you go. Cowboy boots optional, but you won't be the only one.
