A Christmas film bar opens on Grey Street the night the lights go on
Christmas at Grey Street launches on 12 November with festive cocktails and silent Christmas movies.

A festive pop-up bar opens on Newcastle's Grey Street on Thursday 12 November, the same night as the city's Christmas lights switch-on, ChronicleLive reports. It takes over the former Leila Lily's.
The set-up: a main bar, plus a Christmas movie room showing films like Home Alone, Love Actually and The Grinch with subtitles instead of sound. Guests get a free mini bag of popcorn.
The drinks: Christmas cocktails are £9, with two for £15 from 5pm to 7pm. They include a strawberry martini inspired by Love Actually and a tequila Filthy Marg for Home Alone. Classic cocktails are £1 less. There is also a self-service Guinness machine.
When: Thursday to Sunday through November, then seven days a week from noon in December. It closes for good at 6pm on Christmas Eve.
Good cause: £1 from every hot chocolate and Aperol Spritz sold goes to Children's Cancer North.
