Chef Florence Knight opens Lunette on 3 November, on the 11th floor of the St Clement hotel near Temple, Broadsheet reports. It is her first restaurant since leaving Sessions Arts Club in early 2024.

The room: an open kitchen by the door, off-white sofas, small lacquered tables and London views from every side. It is bright by day and a sparkle of city lights after dark.

The food: a set menu using seasonal British ingredients, which changes through the year. Early dishes include a pomme souffle with smoked eel and roe, golden crab rice with peppered egg yolk, and squid with runner beans.

The prices: four courses at lunch for £80. Dinner is six to eight dishes for £110. A wine pairing is £80, and a non-alcoholic pairing is £60.

The drinks: three house cocktails, including a Cedro Martini served in two instalments, plus three non-alcoholic cocktails.

When and where: Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 1.30pm and 5.30pm to 9pm. Level 11, St Clement, London WC2R 2NF.

Go if: it is a special occasion and you want the window seat.
