6 Barrels opens a taproom on North Shields Fish Quay
The beer seller has moved one unit up the street, with cask and keg lines from local and national breweries.

6 Barrels, which has sold beer from breweries across the UK on North Shields Fish Quay since 2017, has opened its own taproom, ChronicleLive reports.
What's new: the business has moved from unit 1A to unit 1 on Northumberland Street, which gave owner Neil Horrobin room for bigger cold storage and a place to drink in.
What's pouring - Cask and keg lines from local and national breweries. - A focus on craft beer, plus cider, wine and spirits.
The room: stripped back and relaxed, with walls given over to local artists. Work by Cullercoats-based Pamela Ormston is up at the moment.
When: open four days a week, Thursday to Sunday, from 4pm on Thursday and Friday and 1pm at the weekend.
Make a day of it: the Quay keeps getting busier. Fred's opened in the old Ship's Cat in April for pub classics and Sunday dinners, pastry chef Emma Carlton runs bakery classes on Saville Street, and a new spot called The Geordie Buoy is due to open on 4 December.
Go if: you like trying beers you won't find in the supermarket, with a fish supper on the Quay to follow.
