A big new opening for Manchester's Chinatown: Sovereign Clouds officially opened on Thursday 29 October in the former New Hong Kong site on Faulkner Street, the Manchester Evening News reports.

What to expect - Three floors and over 1,000 square metres: a restaurant, private karaoke booths where you can order food to the table, and private dining rooms. - A menu running from Cantonese and Sichuan favourites to newer fusion dishes. - Owner Terry Ni, who has run Dynasty in Timperley for 11 years, recommends the guo bao rou (crispy sweet and sour pork from north-east China) and a lobster dish called Dragon Across The Four Seas. - Crispy shredded chicken in chilli sauce, salt and pepper ribs and crispy duck are on there too.

Good for: birthdays and big groups who want dinner and then a sing.

Where: 45-47 Faulkner Street, M1 4EE.
