The Ancoats-born pizzeria's 41st site fills an empty former furniture shop on Monton Road.

Rudy's Pizza Napoletana is opening its first Salford restaurant on Sunday 8 November at noon, Hospitality & Catering News reports. It's on Monton Road, in the former Bennetts Furnishers building, which has stood empty since 2022.

The need-to-knows - More than 120 covers. - It will be Rudy's 41st restaurant, a long way from the single Ancoats pizzeria it opened in 2015. - The usual menu, Margherita and Calabrese included, plus rotating specials made with guest pizza makers from abroad. - Double-fermented dough and Italian ingredients. Rudy's is accredited by the AVPN, the body that protects traditional Neapolitan pizza, and placed 23rd in the 2025 50 Top Pizza ranking.

Doing some good: a sold-out pre-opening night will raise money for Salford Foundation, a local charity that supports children, young people and adults across the area, and there will be ways for diners to give at the new site too.

Why it's worth a look: Monton already has a busy food and drink strip, and an empty high street unit coming back to life with a 120-seater is good news for the neighbours. If you're local, Sunday lunchtime on opening day is likely to be the busiest slot, so a weeknight might be the calmer first visit.
