18th Floor opens on top of The Gantry in Stratford this Thursday
A new rooftop restaurant and bar with sharing steaks, whole lobster and weekend DJs is coming to east London.
A new restaurant and bar opens at the top of The Gantry hotel in Stratford on Thursday 29 October. 18th Floor is a collaboration between East Coast Concepts, which runs Victors and Neighbourhood, and Des Gunewardena's D3 Collective, the team behind Engel and Jang at the Royal Exchange and Pillar Hall at Olympia.
The space: a dining room plus open-air terraces, with DJs and live musicians at weekends.
The menu: meat and seafood. - Whole grilled Scottish lobster. - Fillet and New York strip steaks. - Bigger cuts made for sharing: a 900g tomahawk, a 900g porterhouse and a 650g côte de boeuf.
The drinks: a wine list from D3 head sommelier Giuseppe Lacona, leaning on Argentine malbecs and Tuscan reds, with Bordeaux, Napa Valley and plenty of champagne.
Worth knowing: it's a short walk from Stratford station and the Olympic Park, so it's an easy one for a view and a big dinner before or after an event.
