A new late-night cocktail bar has opened next to Gaucho on St Mary's Street, in the old Côte Brasserie and Prohibition space, the Manchester Evening News reports. Luella's takes its cue from Parisian nightlife: red sofas, cheetah-print chairs, marble tables made in Paris and chandeliers from Italy.

What to drink The eight signatures are named after Luella and her friends. The Luella mixes yuzu, white strawberry, wild strawberry, watermelon and vanilla; the Cherie goes darker with Morello cherry, cacao, vermouth and Pedro Ximénez. Classic cocktails are on too, and the signatures will change through the year.

Good to know - DJs play house and techno through to R&B and afrobeats - No hoodies, tracksuits or gym leggings - Weekends and Christmas are already filling up, so book ahead - 2-10 St Mary's Street, M3 2LB
