London pub rateable values are up 24%, with the West End leading
Colliers research finds 82% of the capital's pubs saw a rise, and four in ten went up by more than 30%.

Rateable values for London pubs rose 24% on average in the 2026 rating list, according to Colliers research reported by MCA. Some 82% of the capital's pubs saw an increase, 40% rose by more than 30%, and the West End led the growth.
Why the jump The 2026 list took effect on 1 April and is based on trading at April 2024. The previous list used April 2021, when pubs were still recovering from lockdowns, so many values were set low. Pubs are valued on fair maintainable trade: the turnover a reasonably efficient operator could expect, with a percentage applied to work out the rateable value.
For your venue: your rateable value is not your bill, but it drives it. Check your 2026 valuation on GOV.UK against your actual trade, confirm the 15% relief for pubs and music venues is applied, and talk to a rating adviser if the figure looks out of line with similar pubs nearby.
