The Blue Star, opposite St James' Park, is up for lease
Trust Inns is looking for someone to take on the Barrack Road pub, refurbished and renamed last year, with an open day on 18 November.

The Blue Star on Barrack Road in Newcastle, directly across from St James' Park, is being advertised as a lease opportunity by Trust Inns, ChronicleLive reports.
The pub - For decades it was The Black & White Bull. It relaunched as The Blue Star in June 2025 after a big refurbishment, with its sign under the blue star on the building's corner - The listing sells it on matchday footfall, street art decor, craft beer and a following for Sunday roasts and burgers - It's a short walk from St James' Metro and Newcastle Central Station, and next to Newcastle University's campus
If you're interested Trust Inns is holding a recruitment day inside the pub on Wednesday 18 November for anyone who wants to look round. The listing is on the Trust Inns website.
For your venue: a site like this trades on two very different weeks: the home-game rush, and the Sundays and student nights in between. Anyone weighing it up should look hard at the fixture list, what a non-match week takes, and the terms Trust Inns is offering, before the open day.
