Vada Vada closes after five months on Wakefield Street
The queer-led Manchester bar and kitchen throws a farewell party on Friday 16 October, then shuts.

Vada Vada, the queer-led bar and kitchen on Wakefield Street in Manchester, is closing after just five months, the Manchester Evening News reports. Its last night is Friday 16 October, with farewell drinks planned so regulars can see it off properly.
The team described a short but wonderful adventure and thanked customers for the love, the memories and the magic. Club nights, quizzes, cabaret and poetry sessions were part of the mix, and the owners say they are talking to promoters so events can find new homes rather than disappear.
The site's recent history - Font, the student nightclub, was here for 22 years until early 2023 - Mother Mary's, an Irish bar, opened in June 2025 - Vada Vada arrived in late May
Three different bars in three years says plenty about how hard that corner has been to hold. If it was your Friday spot, tonight is the send-off.
