America's fast food heavyweights keep eyeing up London, with mixed timing. Jersey Mike's, the New Jersey sub chain founded in 1956, has confirmed three more London sites on top of its first on Argyll Street, Big Hospitality reports. The others are New Oxford Street near Tottenham Court Road, Baker Street, and Cranbourn Street in Covent Garden.

The first doors are due to open in November. The pitch is subs made to order, with meat and cheese sliced in store, bread baked through the day, and a finish "Mike's Way": onions, lettuce, tomato, oregano, salt and a splash of red wine vinegar and oil the brand calls "the juice". UK and Ireland chief executive Satnam Leihal says there are ambitious plans beyond London.

Meanwhile, Propel reports that Raising Cane's has pushed its UK debut on Coventry Street back to early 2027, reportedly because the site needs more structural work. Kingston, Tottenham Court Road and The Strand are still on the list.

So what? The West End sandwich wars are about to get a lot saucier. If you're job hunting, US chains launching here usually hire big opening teams and pay to train them. Just learn to say "Mike's Way" with a straight face.
