The Dolphin in Tynemouth is back after a full refurbishment
A new family team has relaunched the North Tyneside local with refreshed rooms, a new kitchen menu and space for private parties.

Good news for the coast. The Dolphin, a long-standing community pub in Tynemouth, has reopened after an extensive refurbishment, ChronicleLive reports.
What's new - New management: the pub is now run by Charlie Paterson and his family. - Refreshed interiors throughout. - A new kitchen menu, with a renewed focus on quality food. - Room for private functions and events.
The launch: a packed VIP night this week showed off the new look, with drinks, seasonal treats and tasters from the new menu, and a chance to meet the family and team.
The pitch: the Patersons want The Dolphin to be a real part of the community, somewhere locals are proud of and visitors make a point of coming back to. They say they have a strong team in place and more plans to come.
Worth knowing: plenty of North East pubs have closed in recent years, so a well-loved local getting fresh investment and a hands-on family behind it is a welcome change.
Go if: you are heading to the coast this weekend and want a proper local to finish in.
