NEST Dining on Chillingham Road in Heaton is closing, Chronicle Live reports. The restaurant opened in 2021 and built a following for Sunday lunch that often needed booking months in advance.

Owners said it was with a very heavy heart that they were ending their first venture after five years, blaming the state of the economy on taxes and energy bills. They thanked guests and the team, describing the site as a childhood dream built with their own hands.

If you have a booking or a voucher - Deposit holders should contact the restaurant with their full name, booking dates and bank details - Gift voucher holders have been asked to send proof of purchase and an image of the signed voucher to hello@nestinthenorth.com before 20 December 2026

Heaton is losing a neighbourhood fine-dining room that traded on warmth as much as ceremony. If Sunday lunch at NEST was on your list, get in touch about deposits and vouchers sooner rather than later.

Nearby note Paros Greek Restaurant, also on Chillingham Road, has separately said its last trading day is 24 October, so the same stretch of Heaton is seeing two well-liked rooms call time in one fortnight.
