A big new events venue is coming back to the market in Manchester. Manchester Town Hall has opened bookings for weddings and corporate events from January 2028, The Manc reports. It closed in 2018 for what is described as the UK's biggest restoration project.

The building will reopen to the public next year, with a series of celebratory events still to be announced, and then a phased return to commercial hire. The rooms on offer include:

  • The Great Hall
  • The Conference Hall, The Banqueting Hall and The Reception Room, for private dinners, ceremonies and corporate events
  • The Lord Mayor's Parlour, overlooking the newly reopened Albert Square
  • Reception areas for drinks and arrivals

Council leader Cllr Garry Bridges called the building a Victorian masterpiece that the city is looking forward to sharing again.

For your venue: if weddings, private dining or corporate hire are part of your income, a landmark venue with several large rooms in Albert Square changes the competition from 2028. Couples book a year or two ahead, so it will start winning enquiries well before then. Think now about what you offer that it can't: exclusive use, your own kitchen, flexible dates or a lower minimum spend.
