Cheat Daze opens under the arches - waffle balls and dirty sodas land behind Central Station
The fast-growing dessert bar has opened its first Newcastle spot on Forth Street, with cheesecakes, brownies, kunafa and a long list of fizzy dirty sodas.

Sweet tooth? Newcastle has a new place to blame. Cheat Daze, the dessert bar that has been spreading across the North and the Midlands, opened on Friday 2 October in one of the arches on Forth Street, round the back of Central Station, ChronicleLive reports.
The brand already has 14 shops, including Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool, Salford, Bradford and Blackburn, and it has built a big following on Instagram and TikTok. The menu is the kind you plan your day around:
- Waffle balls in flavours like mallow mountain, Biscoff and Oreo crumble
- Brownies (triple chocolate, berry heaven, Kinder) and cheesecakes (the OG, Kinder Heaven, Choc Lover)
- Crunch cakes, ice cream sundaes and a full kunafa range
- Canned matchas, coolers and dirty sodas, with names like Sour Candy, Dirty Cola and Green Goblin
Dirty sodas, if you haven't met one yet, are fizzy drinks loaded up with syrups and cream, and they've gone big thanks to a certain Disney+ reality series.
Worth the trip? If you're heading to a gig or a train and fancy something ridiculous on the way, it's two minutes from the station. Go hungry, share a sundae, and don't make any promises about January.
